Weather —Cold and changeable with rain at times and some snow on the high country. Seas —Rather rough. DOMINION FORECAST General Situation One depression is crossing the South Island, while another and more important one is advancing toward the North Island from the north-west. An intense anti-cyclone covers Australia. Forecast | Winds—Fresh to strong northerlies north of Nelson and Marlborough, and southerlies thence southward, but southerly directions probably becoming | general by Thursday. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rather rough to rough, but decreasing later on the West Coast of the South Island. Eastern Tasman Sea—Strong northerly winds at first in the northern portion. but a change to fresh to strong southerlies or south-westerlie.s advancing from the west and south; seas rough. Weather—Rain in the north and south and gradually becoming general with heavy falls likely in the Auckland province; conditions improving in the western and far southern portions of the South Island; tehiperatures becoming cold with the southerly change.
