GIFT TO COMMONWEALTH By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 23. A gift of a number of native trees has been made by the New Zealand Government to the Commonwealth of Australia to mark Australia’s 150th anniversary celebrations. The gift includes kauri, rimu, silver birch, lowland ribbonwood, totara, cabbage, manuka (scarlet flowering variety), tanekaka, miro and lancewood trees. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, they are to be planted on the slopes of Brindabella Mountain in the capital territory, which is a rapidly growing tourist resort. The trees are now’ en route.
