TO GREET THE KING
Home Fleet To Escort Liner Rousing Welcome Home Assured British Official Wireless (Received June 20, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June 19. Warships of the Home Fleet are assembling at Portsmouth and will sail out to meet the Empress of Britain with their Majesties aboard as she nears England. With ’planes and flying boats overhead they will escort the liner down the Channel to Southampton. An official welcome will take place both in Southampton and London, but there are signs that the most significant feature of the receptions will be a great demonstration on the part of the public. The King has approved of publication in book form in aid of the King George V. Jubilee Trust of a record of their Majesties’ speeches and broadcast addresses during the Royal tour of Canada and Newfoundland and their visit to the United States.
