THE CHURCHES
Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8 a.m. and at 12 at St. Mary’s. The preacher at both the 11 a.m. family service and at evensong at 6.30 will be the Rev. R. Carson. The services in St. John’s Parish are advertised in this issue. Members of the Young Men's Bible Class will assist at the evensong in St. John’s Church. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed at both services at Chalmers Church to-morrow. The services at Trinity Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson. At the Baptist Church in the morning service the Rev. A. L. Silcock will continue expositions upon the 23rd Psalm taking as his subject ’’Green Pastures and Still Waters.” For 15 minutes prior to the evening service Mr E. Spence will lead a song service in which old and much loved hymns and choruses will be sUng. The subject of tire evening address will be “What Good Does It Do to Prav?” All young .people are invited to the meeting of the Christian Endeavour which is held this and every Saturday evening at 7.30 p.m. The meetings are attended by a large number of young people and are very bright and helpful. The evening service at St. Paul’s will be choral,’ when anthems, solo and quartette will be rendered. “The Garden of Eden” is the title of the address to be given by G. Fowler Ward at the Congregational Church, North Street, to-morrow evening. At the close of the evening service the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed. Services at Woodlands Street will be conducted by the Rev. B. J. James in the morning and the Rev. H. J. Odell in the evening. "God the only Cause and Creator" is the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, tomorrow. The Golden Text is “The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself; the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.” (Psalms 93.1).
The morning preacher at Banks Street will be the Rev. Chas. Biair. At th. evening service the Rev. B. J. James will answer the question: “If I Had Only One Sermon to Preach?”
