INTEREST ABROAD
CENTENNIAL TOURNAMENTS By releeraDh Prrw* Association WELLINGTON, April 17. The Australian golf players, N. Von Nida and E. Cremln, arrived by the Awatea to play exhibition matches. After their tour Cremin will return to Australia and Von Nida will go to Suva, Honolulu, America and England.
Von Nida said that in Australia Cremin was believed to be the best putter in the world. The standard of golf in Australia was high, he said, and to win a competition in New South Wales it was necessary to better par figures. The New Zealand Centennial tournaments had aroused a great deal of interest in Australia, and there would be at least 15 professionals as well as a team of amateurs coming. He. too. was coming back for the tournaments. Von Nida said that if the Golf Council was agreeable, he would do what he could to induce American and English golfers to take part in the tournaments.
