BING CROSBY’S QUARTER MILLION INDOOR STADIUM

Bing Crosby, millionaire crooner and movie star, has announced that he will build in Los Angeles an indoor stadium that will be equal to or better than New York’s famous Madison Square Garden. At least £250,000 is to be spent on the project. Bing’s huge arena, which will be be situated between Hollywood and Wilshire, right in the residential heart of the movie city, will be capable of housing night football, ice hockey, indoor polo, horse shows, boxing, tennis—in fact, virtually all sports up to and including an indoor ski meet. Although Los Angeles has dozens of outdoor stadiums and several indoor ones, none is capable of taking care of all the sports mentioned. In a growing city like Los Angeles, whose population is expected to reach two millions by 1940, Bing is nteking a smart and wise investment, wh’cli should insure big dividends ail the year round. New York’s Madison Square Garden is the greatest indoor stadium in the world to-day, and no matter how much Bing spends on his place it cannot be far ahead of The Garden, because its builder, the late Tex Rickard, was well ahead of his time and built for the future.
