QUAINT OLD FOUNTAIN.— -This quaint old fountain dates from 1727 and stands in the centre of the square of the town of Ceske Budejovice. The square covers an enormous expanse of ground and is one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Bohemia. In the background can be seen the tower of the Cathedral of St. Nicholas which rises to a height of over 200 feet. The tower was built in the sixteenth century and is known as the "Black Tower.”
