DINED WITH KING
MEETING WITH LABOUR M.P. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received December 9, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, December 9. Major Attlee, Leader of the Labour Opposition, and Messrs A. Greenwood, A. V. Alexander, Tom Williams and Marshall Ede. were the Labour M.P.’s, dining with the King on Thursday. It was a most homely dinner-jacket affair. Mr Attlee sat at the right of the King, who, after coffee, followed Earl Baldwin’s example, smoked a pipe and listened to the Labour views of the nation’s affairs. The special political correspondent of “The Daily Mail” says: “Further parties are pending to enable the King to meet other leaders.
