Results of Saturday’s Play A and B Grade Matches Further matches in the shield competitions of the Temuka Town and Country Tennis Association were played on Saturday. Although the draw provided that B grade matches should be played, A grade matches which were held over from the previous week-end were decided on Saturday. OBITUARY MRS D. TAYLOR Mrs David Taylor, who died recently at the age of 81 years, was one of the oldest pioneers in the Temuka district. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs S. McCullough and came to New Zealand with her parents in 1864, when seven years of age, settling in Rangitira Valley. Fifty-six years ago Mrs Taylor was married and took up residence in Temuka, where she resided up till the time of her death. For many years her husband conducted a provision store which still stands in the main street near the Bank of New Zealand. Deceased is survived by her husband and two daughters—Mrs T. G. Wallace (Christchurch) and Miss G. Taylor (Temuka), and one son, Mr J. N. Taylor (Milford Road, Temuka).

PERSONAL Mr A. F. G. Alpers, of Christchurch, is visiting Temuka and is the guest of Mr and Mrs L. V. Talbot, Kakahu Road. Miss J. Simpson, of Auckland, who has been visiting Temuka, left on Saturday to stay with friends in Dunedin. Mr W. E. McLean, stationmaster at Temuka, is taking his annual leave in the south. During his absence Mr L. Carlyle will be in charge of the station. Miss Dorothy Wightman, Park Road, left to spend three weeks in Dunedin.
