IN OTHER CENTRES Ashburton: Although the sky was overcast for the greater part of the day yesterday was comparatively mild, a light wind blowing from the northwest. Geraldine: Dull and overcast in the morning; sunny in afternoon. Waimate (for 24 hours ended 9 am. yesterday): Thermometer, max. 55.2; frost, 2 degrees; rain, 3 points; bright sunshine, 8 hours 30 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 52. Yesterday was mainly overcast with a heavy shower of rain about 9 a.m. Dunedin: Yesterday was overcast. Temperatures were mild, the maximum being 56 degrees. There was little wind. The barometer rose sharply in the afternoon to 30.21 inches.
