“YOU’RE A SWEETHEART”
Starring popular Alice Faye, and with a supporting cast of crack entertainers from screen and radio, and with dances, music and specialties galore, “You’re a Sweetheart,” swingsational show surprise, will be shown at the Elite Theatre to-night. Included in the glittering cast are George Murphy, the screen's lates’ rage as a singing and dancing star; Ken Murray and Oswald, his stooge, of “Oh, Yeah,” fame; Andy Devine, William Gargan, Fank Jenks (you’ll remember him from “100 Men and a Giri”), Charles Winninger, Donald Meek and a new singing and dancing comedienne, Frances Hunt, recently with Benny Goodman’s swing band. The music, includes a number of hit songs by Jimmy McHugh and Harold Adamson, with dance numbers arranged by Carl Randall, a New York importation whose unique chorus formations are a revelation to the screen. Miss Faye sings three hit numbers, “You’re a Sweetheart," “So It’s Love” and “Scrapin’ the Toast," with supporting members ,f the cast supplying other tuneful melodies.
