Edward Cahill, utilities manager in the City of San Francisco, told the Australian Associated Press that there is an distinct possibility that Imperial Airways ‘ would establish a service between San Francisco and Australia. Pan American Airways had leased the use of the airport facilities on Treasure Island. Mr Cahill explained that Pan American Airways would use only one hangar, leaving the other available to the Imperial Airways. He declined to give further details and added that negotiations had not yet been completed.
