TECHNICAL SCHOOL

MR A. E. O. LIMBRICK HONOURED The staff of the Timaru Technical High School met yesterday to say farewell to Mr A. E. O. Limbrick, who is leaving to join the engineering staff of the Otahuhu Technical High School. Mr F. L. N. Tuck spoke of the very fine spirit in which Mr Limbrick had entered into all phases of school life, and paid a high tribute to the work he had done in school and to his active assistance in all out-door activities. Mr Carter, on behalf of the staff, expressed sincere regret at Mr Limbrick’s departure, and mentioned how his genial personality would be missed in the staff room. Mr Davidson also spoke. Mr Tuck then made the presentation of a fitted lunch basket. Mr Limbrick, replying, thanked the staff for the gift and the expressions of appreciation of his work. He had spent nine very happy years on the staff, and it was with mixed feleings he was departing. The boys ot the school met Mr Limbrick previously to bid him farewell, when G. Borman, senior prefect, presented him with a stock of fishing flies with the school’s best wishes. A supplementary presentation of a fishing reel made in the workshop by the third-year engineering class was made by M. Vernal 1, who spoke of Mr Limbrick’s fine sportsmanship and help in all the school games.
