REPRESENTATIONS TO MINISTER BY MR BURNETT (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 14. Matters affecting railway services in South Canterbury were the subject of representations made to-day by Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P., to the Minister G 1 Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. Mr Burnett referred to the Minister the urgent necessity of having the Temuka railway station connected with tiie town drainage system, and Mr Sullivan undertook to have a report prepared on the matter. Another point raised by Mr Burnett concerned a request by 51 farmers and drovers in the Orari and Winchester districts that a mile and a half of the main railway line beyond Winchester should be fenced in order to avert extreme danger to travelling stock and other traffic. In this connection, too, the Minister promised a:: early investigation by departmental officers.
