The temperature was lowered considerably by a cold breeze from the hills. Records at Timaru Park yesterday were: Barometer—3o.3o. Max. temp—4B.6. Min. temp, on grass—32. Frost—Nil. Wind—W.l. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch: Yesterday was overcast, and cold. A very light south-west wind prevailed. The maximum temperature was 45.4 degrees. The barometer fell slowly to 30.26 in. at 5 p.m. Ashburton: After rain amounting to 52 points had fallen a frost of 1.5 degrees was recorded yesterday. The day Was unsettled with intermittent sunshine. Geraldine: Dull early, bright sunshine later; cold in late afternoon. Temuka: Yesterday was fine though overcast. The maximum temperature was 47 degrees, and the minimum 27. 1 Overnight seven points of rain was . recorded.
