There were at least 20 other players of Star, Zingari and High School teams present not knowing their games were off. It was r greed to advise the referee that the ground was not fit to play on, but that the Information was received too late to advise all the clubs concerned or the referee.

Player Ordered Off. The referee of the Geraldine-Celtic third-grade game reportd having ordered off D. Bllssett, of the Geraldine team for deliberately punching a Celtic player. Bllssett had the Celtic player on the ground sitting astride him and striking him with both fists. When Blissett was ordered off he said: “If he likes to hit me, I will hit him back.” The referee added that he regretted that he had failed to notify the players to appear before the Union. The secretary (Mr F. J. Cook) stated that he had been in touch with the Geraldine Club and had asked them to notify the player ,to attend the meeting that night. During the meeting the Geraldine Club telephoned to say that they had been unable to communicate with the player. The Union decided to suspend the player until such time as he appeared or notified the Union that he was unable to appear.
