FAKEIt M I. PAKTY Messrs D. Williams and V. Smith were guests of honour al a parly held in tlic Oran Bridge Hall when a number oi their friends gathered to bid them farewell. Dancing was enjoyed the music being supplied by Mr 8. Cross, Messrs T. Mayne and Thomas playing extras. A statue waltz was won by Miss Janet Gresham and Mr J. Metcalfe. During the evening Mr A. Lane spoke m eulogistic terms of the guests. They had both been energetic members of the tennis club and their departure would be a loss to the club On behalf of those present the guests were .en presented with a gift. Mr Williams and Mr Smith thanked the speaker for his kindly remarks and the gifts. Amongst those present were Mrs E. Wood, Misses Jill Lapthorne. Margar I Wood, Madeline Kennedy. Burgess (Temuka) is the guest of her sister Mrs L. Coulter. Mr and Mrs R. A. Bruce have left for Wellington. Mrs Bruce will represent the Geraldine branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union at the annual conference to he held at Wellington this week. Miss Ileen Thornley has returned home from a short holiday spe. t in Timaru.
