Sunshine to date last year—B29.Bhrs. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch: Yesterday was fine and sunny. The wind was light from the west in the morning and from the north-east in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 44 degrees. The barometer fell slowly to 30.28 in. at 5 p.m. Geraldine: Bright sunshine throughout the day. Rainfall at “Waitui” for the 24 hours ended. 9 a.m. 22 points; frost, at Mr A. J. Blakiston's 61 degrees. Temuka: Yesterday was fine with a chilly atmosphere. The maximum temperature was 42 degrees and the minimum 23. Nine degrees of frost was registered. The glass was still high last evening. Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Thermometer, max. 46.0, min. 32.0; frost, 9.5 degrees; rain. 6 points; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 60. Yesterday was sunny but cold. Dunedin: After a frost which was severe in some parts of the city yesterday. the day was fine, though cold, the maximum temperature being 47 degrees. In the late afternoon heavy fog enveloped the northern part of the city and conditions again became very cold The barometer fell to 30.32 inches. CANTERBURY FORECAST Special to " The Timaru Herald " WELLINGTON; June 15 Winds—Light to moderate and variable with north-easterlies predominating.
