EXPERIMENT IN CHICHESTER CATHEDRAL United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 10, 8.55 p.m.) LONDON, January 10. “Talkies” were heard for the first time on Sunday in an English Cathedral, also comprising the whole of the evening service at Chichester where hymns, prayers and religious films were screened. The films included Tolstoi”s “Where God Is, Love Is.” The Bishop and other representatives attended to study the effect which will be considered before any further adoption of the scheme. The congregation numbered 2000.
