The Leerdam correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” reports, as further prooi of Holland’s cleanliness, that a coal heaver was fined 10/- “for repeatedly walking in dirty shoes across pavements in front of houses just after the housewives had carried out their weekly cleaning.
