OTRANTO ARRIVES
NINE HUNDRED TOURISTS By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND; January 7. With more than 900 passengers, the Orient liner Otranto arrived at Auckland this afternoon from Sydney and Brisbane, making the sixth cruise ship to bring Australian tourists to New Zealand this summer. There were a few through passengers from England and others who were making the round trip on the liner, but the majority were Australians mostly young people who had joined the ship at Melbourne. Sydney and Brisbane for a holiday cruise across the Tasman. The comments of groups of passengers were sufficient to confirm the opinion that tourist cruises have become highly popular with Australians. Several of the passengers stated that they had spent their holidays in this fashion last summer and had enjoyed the experience so much that they booked passages well in advance for the present trip.
