CYCLISTS INDULGE IN TRIALS By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, January 7. The National Amateur Cycling championships and Empire Games trials opened at the English Park stadium to-night. G. R. Giles the Olympic representative, was back to form and won the time trial title easily. Results—--1006 Metres Time Trial Giles (Canterbury), Imin 17 l-ssec 1 T. Roe (Wellington) Imin 17 3-ssec 2 R. Ulmer (Wellington) Imin 18 2-ssec 3 Teams Championship First Heat Auckland beat Canterbury. Second Heat Wellington beat Otago. The meeting will be continued tomorrow.
