Mr and Mrs L. H. Labone, Wellington, are at the Grosvenor.
Mr and Mrs Vogan, Christchurch, are guests at the Empire.
Mr and Mrs G. B. Pike, Nile Street, have left on a visit to Dannevirke. Mrs G. R. Pearce and Mrs M. L. Cooper, Wellington, are staying at the Dominion.
Miss H. C. Strachan, has returned to Timaru after a seven months’ tour of England and the Continent. Mr and Mrs C. S. Bruce, Douglas Street, will leave to-day to spend a holiday in the North Island.
Miss O’Neale, has returned home after a short visit to Mrs and Miss Osborne, Waimate.
Mrs John Temple, Highfield, returned yesterday from a visit to Christchurch.
Dr F. J. B. Borrie and Miss A. Borrie, Dunedin, are staying at "The Bungalow,” Wai-iti Road.
Miss M. Pltcaithly, Cattle Valley, is staying with her sister, Mrs Bruce Baxter, Evans Street.
Miss Eleanor Denniston, Christchurch, is staying with Mrs Cotswold Burdon, Geraldine. Miss Jauneta Hall, who has been spending the last four months in Sydney, has returned to Timaru. Mr and Mrs G. F. Cocks and family, Peel Forest, have left to take up residence in Mowbray Street, Timaru. Miss Doris Stevenson, who has been spending a short holiday in Christchurch, has returned to Peel Forest.
Mr and Mrs W. D. Yencken and Miss Yencken, Melbourne, are visiting Timaru and are staying at the Grosvenor.
Mrs R. J. S. Bean, Ceylon, who was staying with Mrs G. Barklie, Geraldine, is now staying with her mother, Mrs J. Maling, Christchurch. Miss Marjorie Jones, who is staying with Miss Ivy Oliver, “Surrey Downs,” Pleasant Point, will return to-day to Christchurch.
Mrs Dailey, who has been paying a round of visits in South Canterbury, will leave to-morrow on her return to Wanganui.
Miss Alice Osborne, Waimate, has returned from Wellington where she was the guest of Mrs B. Sutherland, Karorl.
Mr and Mrs Wavish, Invercargill, and Mr and Mrs Cyril Wavish, Blulf. who were guests at “The Bungalow,” Wai-iti Road, have returned home.
Mrs Katie Hunter and Mr D. M. Hunter, who were staying with Mrs Charles Hudson, “Oakwood," have returned to Dunedin.
The engagement is announced of Molly Mataura, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs D. T. Larnach, Bank of New Zealand, Waimate, and William Rex Abbott, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Wm. Parsons, "Abbotsfield,” Rangiora. A number of members of the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives will visit the Hermitage to-day, returning on Monday. The party will include the Hon. J. A. McCullough and Miss McCullough, Hon. T. F. O’Byrne and Mi's O’Byrne, Hon. G. R. Hunter and Mrs Hunter, Hon. J. Trevethick, Hon. V. Ward, Mr and Mrs R. McKeen, Mrs W. E. Barnard, Mr and Mrs J. B. Cotterill and Mr and Mrs D. Barnes.
