BRIBERY TO END
NEW LEGISLATION IN EASTERN TRADING United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 20, 12.35 a.m.) SINGAPORE, October 19. Bribery and secret commissions, which have been part and parcel of Eastern trading for thousands of years, will disappear if the Bill to be introduced in the Colony Legislative Council is passed. The Bill which is “in the Interests of commercial and public morality,” provides a maximum punishment of seven years’ Imprisonment and a 5000 dollars fine.
