IMPORTANCE OF LIGHTER INDUSTRIES British Official Wireless (Received October 15, 5.5 p.m.) RUBY, October 15. In the course of a visit to Glasgow to study the employment situation at Clydeside, the Minister of Labour (Mr E. Brown) referred to the necessity of establishing light industries in the industrial belt in Scotland since the preponderance of heavy industries on the Clyde laid the Glasgow district open to the extremes of revivals and depressions.
