MERCHANTS PROTEST By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 6. Exception to the proposed boycott or of any attitude of the wharf labourers to Jaapnese ships was expressed at a meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. A resolution was passed to make representations through the Associated Chambers of Commerce urging the Government to take action to stop the incessant hold-ups on the waterfront, many of which were for trivial causes, but which interfered with the Dominion’s general trade, and put the exporters and shipping companies to unnecessary and very heavy expense.
