ROLLER SKATING

SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL The first annual fancy dress carnival of the South Canterbury Roller Skating Club was held recently, a large number of skaters and spectators being present. During the evening bright music was supplied by the Timaru Harmonica Band. The following were the successful competitors.—Half-mile championship, A. May 1, H. Allchurch 2. Graceful skating championship, Mr C. Little and Miss L. Cordiner. Ladies’ potato race, Miss L. Cordiner. Partners’ race, Mr C. Little and Miss L. Cordiner. Monte Carlo, Miss V. Westaway and Mr White. Fancy dress, ladies’, Miss Feely and Miss de Latour; men, A. ShepardSmith and F. Cross.
