SEQUEL TO BEER RAID United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received September 20, 11.50 p.m.) JOHANNESBURGH, September 20. Surrounded by a frenzied crowd of natives, the police, conducting a beer raid in Verennlnging district left three constables dead and one critically wounded. The police retired firing and wounded several of the crowd. Twenty-three arrests were made.
