DEFECTS IN CONCRETE DAM IMMENSE UNDERTAKING CAUSES CONCERN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 23, 1.7 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 22 Serious defects in the concrete walls causing considerable seepage in the immense Burrunjuck Dam, which is near the Federal capital territory, has been reported to the Government by the experts investigating hydroelectric possibilities in New South Wales. The Premier (Mr B. S. B. Stevens) stated to-night that although there was no cause for alarm, remedial measures would be taken immediately. The capacity of the clam is 771,640 acre feet of water.
