EARLY SELECTION
MATCH AGAINST HAMILTON There is nothing like getting in early when it comes to preparing to meet an invasion such as that to be made by the Springboks. First off the mark in choosing a side to meet the Springboks in one of their Rugby matches in New Zealand were the selectors in the King Country-Waikato-Thames Valley area, the unions in which are combining to field a team for the Springboks’ match at Hamilton on July 28. The selectors, Messrs McMillan (Thames Valley), J. McKenzie (Waikato), and T. Craig (King Country), have chosen the following combined team:—
Full-back: F. Robinson <King Country).
Three-quarters: Phillips (King Country), Everest (Waikato), Dixon (King Country). Five-eighths: Cameron (King Country), Crossman (King Country). Half-back: Russell (Waikato).
Forwards: Front row, Margan (King Country), Catley (Waikato), Nelson (King Country); middle row, Wynyard (Waikato), Trust (King Country), Trustrum (King Country), Best (Waikato); back row, Leeson (Waikato). Emergencies: Back, Childs (Thames Valley); forward. Box (King Country).
