HIGHEST PRODUCTION FOR SEVENTY YEARS United press Association—By Electric Telegraph -Copvrieht (Received July 14, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 14 The gross tonnage of merchantmen In building in Britain at the end of the June quarter was 1,199,973, the highest for 70 years. Britain in building 41.6 per cent, of the world tonnage under construction compared with 50 per cent, in 1927, but a disappointing feature of the returns is the continued dearth of foreign orders.
