Christchurch.— The weather was again cold and overcast yesterday, with occasional drizzling rain. The maximum temperature was 42.4 degrees. A light south-west wind was blowing. The barometer was steady and registered 30.33 inches at 5 p.m. Ashburton— The weather yesterday was fine, following light rain during the night and early in the morning. Seven points of rain w’ere recorded. Conditions were cold, but improved toward mid-day, when the sky cleared for the sun to shine, but later misty rain set in. There was a westerly wind. Geraldine.— Air temperatures: Minimum 36 degrees, maximum 55, at 9 a.m 40. Dull and overcast with rain threatening. Temuka. — The run of heavy frosts was brought to a conclusion yesterday with a light drizzling rain. The maximum temperature was 44 degrees and the minimum 29. The glass showed a falling tendency last evening. Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday). Thermometer, maximum 46, minimum 34. frost 3 degrees. Rain 2 points. Bright sunshine 54 minutes. Wind gauge ( miles run in the last 24 hours) 22. Light rain fell late on Tuesday evening, but yesterday was overcast and cold. Dunedin. — Dull and foggy conditions prevailed yesterday, but although the maximum temperature was only 46 degrees, a complete absence of wind helped, tp keep conditions mild. The barometer stood at 30.45 degrees with a slight falling tendency towards the evening.
