HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT
The Department of Agriculture has received the following message, dated June 19, from the High Commissoner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow Little more inquiry at unchanged prices. Hemp Manila: Market continues slow; value K grade for June-August and October-December shipments £32. Sisal: Market quiet; steadier at the close. June-August shipments sold at £2B/10/-; August-October and Decem-ber-February shipments sold at £2B New Zealand: Several inquiries but shippers’ prices out of range. Fruit Port Brisbane discharged In sound condition. Apples: Steady demand but no improvement In prices. Current prices are: Granny Smith, 9/. to 13/-; Dougherty. 9/- to 10/-; Jonathans, Delicious, Cleopatra. Statesman, Sturmer, Rome Beauty. Scarlet Nonpareil. Spit-’ zenberg and Yates, 6/- to 8/-; Dunn’s Favourites, 6/- to 7/6. Pears: Winter Nells, 10/- to 12/-; Winter Cole, 10/- to 11/-; Beurre Bose, 8 - to 9/-; Keiffer, Beurre Diel and L’lnconnue, 6 - to 8/-. Bagged grain is worth 5/3 a bushel and country silo wheat about 4/4, equal to 4/11 on a Sydney basis. Flour—£l2/5/- a ton. Bran—£6/15/- a ton. Pollard—£7 a ton. Potatoes—Tasmanian £5 a ton; others £4. Onions—Brown £l3 a ton. Maize—Yellow and white 59a bushel. LONDON SHARE MARKET United Prese Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copariabt LONDON, June 23. Gold shares are steadier, mostly marked up. Imperial Airways shares dropped 6/to 38/9, following the Announcement that a million shares were issuing at 30/-.
