MOTORIST GAOLED
INTOXICATED AT WHEEL By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 22. “Where definite and serious evil exists it must be dealt with by the Courts, with what power they have,” said Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., dealing with a charge of intoxication against a car driver. The defendant, Richard James Thomas Cowley (49), painter was sentenced to 21 days’ hard labour and his license suspended and he was prohibited from obtaining another till after May 31, 1939. It was stated that defendant had a conviction about ten years ago.
