OBITUARY

MRS M. A. E. HOWE Mrs A. E. Howe, who died recently, was bom at Barrow-on-Humber in 1848, and when a child came with her parents to Western Australia in the ship Dido. In 1870 she came to New Zealand and with her parents settled in Kaiapoi. A few years later she W'as married to Mr W. M. Howe, who took a great interest in the affairs of this town and who predeceased her 23 years ago. She had attained the age of 88. She leaves a son and two daughters, Mr C. H. R. Howe, Mrs C. L. Davis and Mrs A. Greenwood, all of Timaru.
