RETIRED STOCK INSPECTOR By Telegraph—Press Association ASHBURTON, May 18. While replying to a presentation at a meeting of the A. and P. Association on behalf of Mid-Canterbury farmers in appreciation of his nine years’ service as Government Stock Inspector, Mr John Washington Smith collapsed and died. Mr Smith, who was married, retired on superannuation a few weeks ago. Previously he was in the Otago district. »
