Mr A. Donald, who was a member of the staff of the State Theatre, Tirnaru, has been transferred to Nelson on promotion.
Included in the guests at the Dominion are Messrs T. C. Somerville, C. Rhodes, A. F. Bruce (Dunedin), I. Little, S. J. Russell, W. S. Wood, H. A. Hungerford (Christchurch), J. D. Rodman (Lake Tekapo). Messrs F. A. Brownjohn, C. Arnold, K. Gordon, E. Browne, R. Stuart, T. G. Scarf, R. G. Todd (Christchurch), W. Garside, D. Golightly, I. G. Butler (Dunedin) and F. H. Wade (Wellington) are staying at the Empire. The chairman of the South Canterbury Hospital Board (Mr E. Macdonald), a member, Mr B. R. Macdonald, and the steward of the Walmate Hospital (Mr W. G. Paul) were congratulated by the Board at the monthly meeting yesterday on having received Coronation medals. Guests at the Grosvenor include Messrs H. T. Robertson, D. Manson, C. E. Jerman, E. C. O’Malley, P. S. Sherlock, J. Wallace-Wright, C. G. Grundy, h’ W. McFarlane, A. Reid (Christchurch), F. Montague (Wellington), F. J. Rasmussen (Calcutta), W. H. Jenkins (Sydney), H. E. Clark (Dunedin). Mr C. H. Hoskin, who has been officer in charge of the Labour Department at Greymouth, district inspector of factories, awards and weights and measures for the last 15 months, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to Tirnaru to a similar position. Mr Hoskin joined the Department in 1914, and before going to Greymouth was for eight years an inspector on the staff of the Department at Christchurch.
