WHAT VEGETABLES DO FOR YOU
Many people do not realise the actual uses of various vegetables and their value to the body.
Asparagus is an excellent blood purifier and is specially good for the complexion. Beetroot is particularly useful in stimulating a fickle appetite. Celery should be eaten frequently by those who suffer from any kind of nervous complaint, and it is also advocated for any one suffering from rheumatism or neuralgia. Lettuces and cucumbers are valuable for anyone worried by insomnia and have a cooling effect on the blood. Onions, garlic, leeks, olives, and shallots are all good for improving the circulation of the system and also in crease saliva and gastric juices which aid digestion. Spinach or silver beet are good for the kidneys, and tomatoes are the finest things for dyspepsia and indigestion. Turnips are also very good, and carrots are good for the complexion. Watercress is another green salad which should not be neglected, as it contains highly nutritious properties.
