WOMEN’S DIVISION

GERALDINE BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Geraldine branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held yesterday afternoon, was very short as many of the members were helping at the District Nurse Sale of Work. The newly-elected president (Mrs W. Watson), occupied the chair. Mesdames Kelman, G. Womer, W. Fyfe, D. LeCren and Miss Hughes were elected new members. An invitation to the Orari Bridge Division’s birthday party was accepted with thanks. Letters of congratulation from Allandale and Sherwood Downs on Mrs A. W. Kelman’s success at the Fairlie Show were received. It was decided to have a voluntary “Bring and Buy” table at each monthly meeting. During the afternoon, the president took the opportunity of. making a presentation to Mrs A. W. Kelman, in appreciation of her work at the Fairlie Show. The secretary (Mrs R. A. Dixon) reported on the inter-provincial meeting of Women’s Divisions at Christchurch.
