FIREMAN KILLED lel r«*rn Pre** a«.»cl i’'«H> • INVERCARGILL, May 5 Thomas Henry Woods, aged about 20, a fireman employed on a shunting engine in the railway yards, was killed this evening when he slipped while working on the front of the engine. Woods, it is understood, had left the cab while the engine was engaged in shunting to make some adjustment to the light. It was then that he must have slipped beneath the engine. He was dragged more than 50 yards backwards and forwards before it was known that an accident had occurred. The body was badly mutilated. Woods was a son of Mr A. J. Woods, of Waimate,
