The new Catholic Church at Washdyke will be opened and blessed by Bishop Brodie on Sunday at 3 p.m. This day at 1.30 p.m. at the Wentworth Mart, Runciman Pryor, Ltd. will hold an auction sale of bikes, furniture, 2 vyces, gramaphone, organ, wireless, piano, etc. To-day at 2 p.m. at the Wentworth Mart Runciman Pryor Ltd. will offer by public auction freehold property known as the Cabin, Morgans Road, consisting of three roomed cottage on a high sunny section of one acre. The Mayor (Mr P. C. Vinnell) has asked the local branch o* the New Zealand Crippled Children’s Society to assist with the distribution of the funds given by Lord Nuffield to help those suffering with physical disabilities In the Timaru district. Applications for assistance will be welcomed from those of any age who are blind, deaf, dumb, crippled or in any way physically deformed. Applications should be sent before April 10 to Mr v. C. Romans, West School, who is secretary of the Timaru Branch of the New Zealand Crippled • Children’s Society.
