VICTORIA HALL COMMITTEE j The annual meeting of the Victoria | Hall Committee was held on Tuesday evening. Mr L. H. Orbell presided I over a fair attendance. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £B6/11/5. The principal items on | the receipt side were £5B/14/2 from the Saturday night dances and £l5/17/61 from the Show night dance. Mr Orbell, in moving the adoption I of the report and balance-sheet, con- j gratulated the committee on the healthy state of the finances. It was j the intention of the committee to carry out further improvements to the building. The ladies’ room wanted enlarging, and when the money was available, a permanent stage would be built. Mr Orbeil moved a vote of thanks to Mesdames W. J. Jackson, W. | Waple, W. Priddle and Miss B. Wilks i for their services at the Saturday night j dances and to Mr T. W. D. Munro, auditor. The committee elected was: Mrs J. j C. Connolly, Messrs L. H. Orbell, W. I J. Jackson, W. Priddle, W. Waple. F. i A. Deßenzy, J. Cripps, A. G. Kimber, ' N. G. South. At a meeting of the committee arrangements were made for the Show - night dance. Mr Jackson was authorised to make arrangements tor the orchestra and prizes for the novelty dances. It w r as decided to purchase more crockery. Messrs W. J. Jackson, J. Cripps and W. Waple were appointed masters of ceremonies. It was agreed to commence the Saturday night dances on the first Saturday after the Show. Mesdames W. J. Jackson, W. Priddle, W. Waple, T. A. Deßenzy, J. C. Connolly and Miss Wilks were elected a social committee.

Mr South moved that the last Saturday in each month be left open for outside organisations, Messrs Priddle and Cripps supporting the motion. Mr Jackson moved an amendment that the hall committee reserve the right to hold its Saturday night dances till the end of October. The amendment was carried.
