Labour will retain control of the government of London for the next three years. The final state of the County Council was:— Labour 76 Municipal Reform .... 49 Labour increased its majority by six gains, including two in North Kensington. At tire last election Labour gained a majority of seats, and before the election there were 69 Labour members and 55 Municipal Reform members of the council. Except for four seats for the City of London, for which Municipal Reform candidates were returned unopposed. all the seats were contested Labour was represented by 120 candidates. Municipal Reform by 116 the Liberals by 18. the Fascists by 6, and the Independents by 3.
