Marlene Dietrich appeared unexpectedly before the Federal Court and signed the first papers to become an American citizen. She took the oath of allegiance and became eligible for citizenship in two years. She gave her legal name as Maria Magdalene Sieber and her birth on January 21, 1904, in Berlin. It is learned that Helen Wills Moody has granted the Twentieth Century Fox an option over her services for cinema work. Although Helen WillsMoody is employed at designing sports wear here the company declined to comment. It is understood she wil. receive r-.ore than 50.000 dollars if the option is exercised. Whether the film contract would affect her amateur standing will depend on whether the films in which she appeared are bated on tennis.
