FATAL CASE

INFANTILE PARALYSIS An adult infantile paralysis patient died in the Waimate Hospital on Saturday morning. A married woman, aged 31 years, was admitted at 11 p.m. on Friday and died four hours later. This Is the second death in Waimate since the onset of the epidemic. Nine cases have been admitted to the Wiamate Hospital to date, reported Dr. R. G. Shackleton, superintendent, to a meeting of the hospital committee. Two have been discharged as fully recovered, five are still in the institution, and two deaths have occurred. No further cases were reported over the week-end.
