The Davis Cup does not provide a medium for entertainment, although it is of national Interest, is the judgment of the Court, which decided against the Revenue Departriient, which qlaimed £lO,OOO entertainment tax tin the French matches in 1932, 1933 and 1934, when £lOO,OOO was taken. Henrotin won the national indoor singles championships. Parker defeated Bowden 6-4, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. Mlle. Henrotln defeated Miss Hirsch 10-8, 1-6, 6-2. At Philadelphia, Phipps won the national amateur court tennis championship, defeating Van Alen 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
