BEST PERFORMANCES IN 1938 United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received March 5, 5.5 p.m.) HOLLYWOOD, March 5. The awards of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 1936 are as follows: Luise Rainer, the best performance for an actress, in "The Great Zlegfleld.” Paul Muni, the best actor in the story “Louis Pasteur.” Gall Sondergaard best supporting actress in "Anthony Adverse.” Walter Brennan, best supporting actor in “Come and Get It.” Best production, “The Great Zieffield.” Best direction, Frank Capra in “Mr Deeds Goes to Town.”
