“Husbands should never deceive their wives!" “They seldom do!”
they provide. Simple, plain wood shelves that will hold knickknacks, if you have not enough books to fill them, can be purchased in sets that fit into a corner and give length to one wall and a balancing effect of spaciousness to the other. For corners opposite to windows there are wall cabinets, rather oldfashioned affairs, but with quite an air of their own, that will hold, perhaps, a model of a ship in full sail or a colourful piece of china or glass that you cherish. Cabinets of curios or china can also be placed in full light that will show up their entire surface, and one must not forget the modern or old-fashioned versions of the cupboards, sometimes with book shelves attached, that can house a wireless or your odds and ends of cards and scorers.
