LORD NUFFIELD

PASSES THROUGH TIMARU Lord Nuffield, accompanied by ills private secretary’, Mr W. Hobbs, his Australian and New Zealand representative, Mr G. A. Lloyd, and Mr C. J. B. Norwood, of Wellington, passed through Timaru on his way to Dunedin and Invercargill yesterday. Lord Nuffield was approached by a representative of “The Timaru Herald” and asked if he would comment on the Government’s proposal to establish permanent children's health camps as a national memorial to the late King George V. Lord Nuffield said that he had not seen the telegram forwarded to the Hospitals’ conference, nor was he conversant with the proposals, so he was not in a position to make any comment.

The visitor will remain in the south until Monday when he will return to Timaru, spending the night here.
