To-day at 1.30 p.m. at the Wentworth Auction Mart, Messrs Runciman Pryor Ltd. will hold an auction sale oi radio, piano, organ, gramaphones, bikes, furniture, etc. “I have been told by a shipping company that as soon as one of its ships goes on to the patent slip for overhaul it becomes involved under 28 industrial awards," said Mr M. J. Reardon, Conciliation Commissioner, at a hearing of the Dominion wickerworkers’ dispute. The Commissioner told the' Conciliation Council of the difficulties of one company in keeping track of changes under the various awards and complying with them. Plans are well forward for the preparation and construction of a model pa at Hawera, near the old and famous Ohawe battleground. Mr Henry Toka. of the Rotorua Maori School of Art, who is at present supervising the remainder of the carving at Wanganui for a memorial church at Putiki, has been appointed to supervise the work at Hawera. Beside the actual restoration of old fortifications and pallisades at Ohawe. huts in the Maori style are to be built for campers.
